PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Unilock 'Mistral' is a demountable 80mm thickness composite partition system, intended for commercial use. It comprises pre-decorated gypsum board panels mounted onto a framework of vertical galvanised studs, located within ceiling and floor tracks, retained by means of Omega section metal trims screw fixed in position. It is available with a number of alternative doorframe configurations and single and double glazed elevations.
A double skinned 'Soundwall' 100mm variant with enhanced acoustic properties can be integrated within the Mistral construction, as can 'Stratus' monolithic finishes in place of the Omega section at module joints and 'Flushwall' V-joint junctions.
The system incorporates a number of head and base track variations to provide a range of aesthetic options for the specifier and is capable of accommodating various acoustic infill media to provide a range of acoustic performances.
FIRE RESISTANCE OF SYSTEM
The system has been designed and tested to achieve half hour fire resistance for all major elements.

• Full height gypsum FR30 panels: half hour to BS476 Part 22.
• Double glazed full height panels, fitted with 'Pyrocet' fire resisting glass to unexposed face: half hour to BS476 Part 22.
• Full height classic radiused doorframe with "Halspan' cored fire rated doorleaf: half hour to BS476 Part 22.

SOUND INSULATION
The system had been tested for acoustic performance to the procedures of ISO 140/ISO717.

PARTITION DIMENSIONS
Solid modules, glazed and tiled modules and doorframes have a maximum floor to ceiling height capability of 3000mm. Standard panel module 1213mm for Mistral and Soundwall variant, 1200mm for Flushwall and Stratus variant. Maximum door module 1000mm for single and 1800mm for double. System thickness 80mm overall for Mistral and Stratus/Flushwall, 100mm overall for Soundwall.

DEFLECTION ALLOWANCE
The system follows the line ceiling and compensates for ceiling run out.
HEADS
Several options of headtrack can be specified under this clause; flush standard 25mm deep steel headtrack or 35mm deep aluminium recessed headtrack, inset 15mm from partition face.

The framing elements are of cold rolled galvanised steel, with exposed sections polyester powder coated.

JUNCTIONS/CORNERS
The system panel junctions comprise of a 36mm width Omega profile with a flush PVC infill strip to conceal fixings (Mistral/Soundwall variants) and a shallow v-joint between abutting gypsum boards (Flushwall variant).

• 36mm Omega junction strip with flush PVC infill strip 8mm wide or
• v-joint to gypsum board junctions.
Extruded aluminium corners are available in radiused or square profile, floor to ceiling height.

FIXINGS AT ABUTMENTS
Fixings are typically plastic expansion plugs and steel screws into building fabric. Alternatively, double sided adhesive tape is used for a non-mechanical fixing. Specify under this clause.

SKIRTING/SILLS
Several options of basetrack/sills details can be specified under this clause; 55mm deep PVC clip on skirting; inset recessed base 55mm expressed depth; face fixed aluminium powder coated skirting 80mm deep.

• 55mm deep recessed base or
• 80mm aluminium skirting with concealed screws.

SOLID PANELS FINISH/COLOUR
Solid panels are available factory finished with sheet vinyl or fabric. Exposed metal components and trims are finished with polyester powder coating to a minimum of 50 microns. Tile finish of the panels and trims should be specified under this clause.

GLAZED PANELS
Glazed panels are available in single or double glazing, site glazed. The glass is installed flush to the face of the partitions in both variants, held by the same Omega profile as solid elevations, presenting the same junction appearance. All glazed module constructions are interchangeable with the solid modules of the same dimensions.

• Single glazed full height.

GLASS TYPES
Should be specified as 6mm toughened.

• Glass to be 6mm toughenes safety glass, with round edges for safe handling on site, glazed into prepared frameworks.

BLINDS
Blinds are incorporated within the system in single glazed or double glazed format.

• Glazed modules of Mistral to incorporate 25mm venetian blinds, blind control cable and actuator knob. Define colour of blinds under this clause.

DOORSETS
Doorsets are available full height or standard 2100mm height with a number of alternative frame profiles: Classic Radius, Aerofoil and Square, housing 44/54mm solid and 10/12mm glass doorleaves. The profile of the doorframe and the proposed doorleaf should be specified under this clause. All doorframe modules are interchangeable with solid and glazed modules of the same modular dimension.

The system is capable of including cutouts for switch boxes and socket outlets formed in the solid panels. The requirements for electrical/service outlets should be specified under this clause.
